Corporate partnership
Work with a Cape Town NPO where the outcomes are people, named and countable.
Souper Troopers is a South African non-profit working with people experiencing homelessness in Cape Town, and a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor. Businesses partner with us in three ways, and every one of them is measurable on both a B-BBEE scorecard and a tax return.
There is no partnership tier list and no minimum. What follows is what these relationships have actually looked like, so you can see which shape fits your business before you get in touch.
Three shapes a partnership takes
Fund a programme
A long-term collaboration on a shared outcome, rather than a donation into general funds - for example upskilling Troopers and creating real job opportunities at the end of it, with both organisations working to the same target.
MoreLess - Fund a programme
Sponsorship can also be pointed at one part of CAST or one part of The Humanity Hub, which is what makes it reportable against the social pillar of an ESG commitment - named programmes and actual results, rather than a figure donated.
Give what your business already does
Skills and services go as far as cash, and often further, because they replace a cost we would otherwise carry. Our accountants, our lawyers and our web hosting are all donated.
MoreLess - Give what your business already does
Marketing, IT, design, mentoring, training and delivery are all useful. So are office electronics, furniture and supplies when a company refits - equipment on its way out of one office is frequently exactly what the Hub needs.
Put Troopers Coffee in your office
Our Dignity Blend is available as a standing order for offices, guesthouses and Airbnbs, not only as a one-off gift. The Lab Blue in Franschhoek serves it to guests at sunrise.
Every bag funds the jobs behind it - the Souper Squad members who pack and sell it - and because we are a Level 1 contributor it counts as preferential procurement spend on your scorecard rather than as a donation.
See the coffeeWhat businesses ask us first
Does supporting Souper Troopers count towards our B-BBEE scorecard?
Yes. Souper Troopers is a B-BBEE Level 1 contributor, so procurement spend with us - buying Troopers Coffee for your offices, for example - is recognised at 135% of its value against the preferential procurement element. Donations count as socio-economic development spend, and we provide an affidavit confirming 100% black beneficiaries.
Are donations to Souper Troopers tax-deductible in South Africa?
Yes. Souper Troopers is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO 930063119), so donations are tax-deductible, and we issue a Section 18A certificate for the full value of the donation.
Is there a minimum to become a corporate partner?
No. Partnerships here have started from a single donated afternoon of professional services and from a standing coffee order, as well as from funded programmes. The useful first step is a conversation about what your business already does, rather than a figure.
Can we donate our services instead of money?
Yes, and it goes just as far, because a donated service replaces a cost we would otherwise carry. Professional services, skills and office equipment are all useful.
What does Souper Troopers do with corporate support?
It funds the CAST programme at The Humanity Hub in Woodstock, Cape Town - skills development and daily meals, transport to interviews, interview clothing, and healthcare as basic and as decisive as an eye test or a set of dentures.
Figures reflect the generic B-BBEE scorecard under the current Codes of Good Practice; sector codes set different targets, and amendments to the procurement element were gazetted in January 2026 and are not yet in force. This is general information, not tax or compliance advice - please confirm against your own scorecard with your B-BBEE practitioner.Last verified 10 August 2026.
