Description
Handcrafted with care by members of the Souper Squad,
formerly homeless people who all went through the CAST
Model program with Souper Troopers at The Humanity Hub.
They are now rebuilding their lives, and each African Worry Doll
carries a story of their resilience, dignity, and hope.
Inspired by a traditional practice of “whispering your worries” to
a doll before placing it under your pillow or carrying them with
you, these dolls are a symbol of healing and comfort. Every
unique creation represents the hands and heart of its makers,
while also supporting the ongoing work of Souper Troopers, a
Cape Town–based non-profit that empowers people to move
from the streets into lives of purpose.
By purchasing an African Worry Doll, you’re not only bringing
home a piece of South African artistry, you’re also directly
contributing to someone’s journey of transformation.
